Fair Use Policy
A short, plain-English summary of how "unlimited" and lifetime plans work in practice — so the service stays fast and affordable for everyone.
1. Why this policy exists
Miroir uses third-party AI models to generate beauty readings. Each reading costs us real money in compute and API fees. Plans marketed as "unlimited" or "lifetime" are intended for normal, personal use of the app — not for automated scraping, commercial reselling, or extreme volumes that would make the service uneconomical for everyone else. This policy describes what we consider normal use, and what we may do if usage falls outside it.
2. What counts as fair use
Fair use covers everyday personal use of Miroir: taking and reviewing your own readings, comparing results over time, exploring different modes, and sharing the occasional reading with friends. There is no fixed daily cap for fair use — most users never come close to one.
3. What goes beyond fair use
The following uses fall outside this policy, regardless of plan:
- Generating readings on behalf of third parties as a paid or unpaid service ("reselling");
- Sharing a single account with multiple people or devices in a way that exceeds normal personal use;
- Automated, scripted, or batch uploads (for example, processing a folder of photos via an emulator);
- Generating readings for the purpose of training other AI models, building datasets, or benchmarking;
- Sustained volumes substantially higher than the 95th percentile of comparable plans (we calculate this on a rolling 30-day window).
4. Soft limits
To keep the service responsive for everyone, we may apply soft rate limits during peak load — for example, briefly slowing new analyses if the queue is congested. These limits affect all plans equally and are not a penalty.
5. What happens if usage falls outside fair use
If your usage pattern indicates non-personal or automated use, we will normally contact you first by email to discuss the situation. Depending on the case, we may:
- ask you to switch to a plan that better matches your usage;
- apply a per-account rate limit going forward;
- in cases of clear abuse (scraping, reselling, sharing credentials at scale), suspend or terminate the account in line with our Terms of Service.
We will not terminate an account for going slightly above an unwritten average — this policy targets clear, sustained outliers, not enthusiastic users.
6. Lifetime plans
Lifetime access means access for the operational lifetime of the Miroir service, subject to this Fair Use Policy. It does not guarantee unbounded compute resources or that every future feature will be included without an additional add-on. We will give at least 60 days' notice before any material change to what a lifetime plan covers.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
